The Three Rocks Pride schoolteacher is ready to get serious about starting a family, and she needs a serious man to make that happen.Regrettably, that means crossing less-than-serious Michael Minor off her list of potential mates. Michael is impulsive and passionate, but his spontaneity leaks into shapeshifting whenever his emotions run high—a tendency he should have outgrown long ago. As a sex buddy, he’s delicious. Daddy material? Disqualified.Michael is blindsided by Mara’s rejection. Nine years separate them, and his genetic malady means no one in the pride treats him as an adult. But if she thinks he’ll simply slink away to lick his wounds while she steps into the arms of another man, she has seriously underestimated him.The tricky part will be convincing his over-analytical lover that he’s more than a disposable sex toy. That real bravery means tearing up her damn checklist and following her heart. And doing it without letting their explosive sexual chemistry expose the Pride’s secrets to the outside world.Product WarningsThis book features break-up sex, make-up sex, a lioness who’s a cougar and a hot young lion who’s grown up in all the right ways. Note: All electrical shocks are purely metaphorical....

There are a few incontrovertible truths in the world- one of them being that I am rarely moved to tears during a book or movie. It's like I lack tear ducts or something. While it's true that I didn't cry during this book, I came damn close. There was something about poor Michael having his flaws thrown back in his face that just got me. *pets him* And he was so upfront about how he was completely aware that he has some things he needs to work on. *sigh*I always tend to enjoy books where the main characters have known each other for a while. The fact that these two were smoking between the sheets made it even sweeter. It's like you skip the foreplay and go straight to the good stuff, but you still get the emotion in there. That's nice every once in a while. Sure, sometimes I like the slow build-up but sometimes you just want to jump in with both feet and a sledgehammer. What were talking about again?Umm, right. Skipping the foreplay. Wow, my train of thought is so far out of the station at this point I really wonder if it's worth trying to catch up.I liked the book. I like the Minor family. I like revisiting characters from previous books. So, there.-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

I really enjoyed this story. I think that when you look deep at Mara and Michael they make a good couple. Problem is that many in the story don't look at anything other than surface assumptions about the relationship...at least at first.Mara is a school teacher. She loves kids and wants some of her own. She has lists of everything she thinks her "Mr. Forever" will be. I will admit that I was getting really annoyed with Mara for the first part of the story but she pulled things out well in the end. I really liked Michael and felt bad for him at the same time. He has a genetic issue that causes him to have more trouble controlling his shift to Lion than most. Normally not being able to control a shift is a problem of young shifters. Because Michael has this disorder people tend to treat him like a kid even though he's in his mid-20s and is as responsible as anyone else in the Pride. He seems to get underestimated by most everyone (except by Landon surprisingly enough) and when Mara tries dropping him to find her "Mr. Forever" everything ends up coming to a head.Although I did admit to some frustration with Mara, overall I really enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the flashes we get of Landon and Ava in this story (as well as a few others in the Pride). I really liked the way Mara and Michael got together in the end (even if I wish part of it hadn't happened in public...) and was very happy for them. :D

I read Serengeti Heat, Serengeti Storm, Serengeti Lightning and Serengeti Sunrise one after the other over maybe 2 days. I didn't realize that the titles worked so well together (Heat, Storm, Lightning, Sunrise). The series is OK. I liked the shifters and the different conflicts. But I didn't think that these stories were paced particularly well. I sometimes found myself skimming, and other times going back to re-read thinking that I had missed something. Maybe because of this I didn't find that I got sucked into the story and/or didn't find any of the characters to be particularly sexy. So this series gets 3/5. Each book gets 3/5. I can't say that there was one book that stood out as being the best out of the series. Each book had it's own pluses and minuses. I'm not sure that I will read Vivi Andrews again unless she comes out with something with a synopsis that I find particularly appealing.

(This review may contain spoilers).I think this book might be my favourite so far. I liked the characters and it was nice to see Michael settled down with someone as well. There were some public scenes in this book, enough to make me cringe with the worry that the characters might get caught. I found this book to be much more intense than the previous two, particularly when Mara's trying to go after Michael. It was good to see and learn of other members of the pack, but for some reason, I thought it was a lot smaller than it really was. I also liked the use of more shifting in this book - it was good to see the characters as lions a bit more.

Another nice story. Mara was a strong independent woman determined to find love somewhere else when it was right in front of her. She created this ideal Mr. Forever and was blind to anyone who wasn't perfectly like that. Michael was great. I hated the way everyone treated him like a child because he didn't have full control over his shifting. Mara was very stubborn and Michael was the exact mate for her and I was glad she saw that in the end.

"3 out of 5 stars, I did like book 1 more so then this one. However, the relationship between Michael and Mara has great chemistry that I just loved reading about!"Read more of this review and a teaser here: http://frommetoyouvideophoto.blogspot.com/2010/10/made-grade-serengeti-shifter-novella.html

As the other books in this series, this is a light, fun, sexy book. Where it's different from the others is that there wasn't much action in this one, and it felt more like it was setting up Zoe & Tyler's book.

I reallllly liked Michael. I was not so keen on Mara. In fact she's kind of a bitch. The way she looks down on the other women in her pride is very off-putting. I thought Michael deserved better. Great book though, very emotional and well done!

Love this unique lion shifter series. I wish the stories were longer, and I wish the age issue hadn't been so big in this one (I have a thing against younger man/older woman storylines anyway), but Andrews still spins a wonderful tale.

I liked this one, but it felt short! And I enjoyed the way he was thought to be handicapped because he couldn't always control his shifting.

This was a pretty good short novel, though I had to take a break from reading it in the beginning I came back and finished it in one fell swoop and I truly enjoyed it :]

Loved Michael from start. Great book. I love how Michael had to show he can be grown up and be everything a mate needs. Great HEA.
