The final page remained curled in an old black Royal typewriter, with a small spatter of blood on the roller. The blood had dried, as did the ink and the ribbon was at its end. His life too, came to an end with his final written words. When his beloved Hanna vanished, he became a man that was haunted by her memory. A man that questioned his purpose in life and meaning to her. He sought comfort in writing, trying to find reason with words. He hoped to find solace in the pages as they unfolded, and to quiet the unexplained whispers that came to him. In his effort, he soon came to question fiction from reality, and had either found insanity or truth. Perhaps he had fallen into madness and schizophrenia, or maybe the voices he heard were real. The reader will have to decide. Is this a diary of his life or merely a work of fiction? No one had yet discovered how or why she vanished, and it became his obsession to find her. Some may say it was his devotion. This is their story¦...

It's not often you find a novel from a male author with such sensitivity and vulnerability. When you write you wear your heart on your sleeve for the whole world to judge and Jonathan Mitchell certainly has shone a light on his own soul. I commend the author for allowing us to see this soft side so rarely experienced from a male perspective. I was touched time and again by the gentle character he created. He could have easily made him jaded but he chose a soft -hearted character you grew to love. Jonathan loved deeply at a level some people will never attain. People leave relationships at the first hardship and don't have the depth and character to stick it out. Jonathan stuck it out.Nice writing as well. " The Grandflora Rose that peered from outside just over the window sill had become dormant after a single bloom. I thought it to be a symbol of the state of my life; a reference to those happy summers, years ago, when Hanna & I blossomed in our youth and waited each season to flourish again." Now that's good writing!

My heartfelt thanks to Mr Mitchell for his sensitivity and willingness to pen such a beautiful manuscript. It is often thought that only women authors are capable of sharing their innermost feelings in the written form. Mr Mitchell has shot an arrow right through that thought! The book oozed warmth, emotion, and a genuine delicacy that was refreshing. I felt as though I was warped into a world that was completely my own. The analogies and humor were timed perfectly. This is such an excellent book. After I finished reading the book I found myself going back to the book several times flipping through pages to reread random parts! What a screenplay this would be!

Such a talented writer. Chapter after chapter I was enthralled by the creative writing, wonderful analogies, humor, and captivating mental images from The Last Whisper. We've all had a Hanna in our life, but only the fortunate few can hold such a love for a lifetime. This is a story crying to become a screenplay.
