But when a fourth spouse turns up dead in Lincoln, Nebraska, Rain’s superiors call in help from the FBI. They’ve either got a serial killer or a hired murderer on their hands, and their solution is to team Rain up with Special Agent Noah Kayne—and send them undercover as a married couple. Noah is infuriating…and infuriatingly attractive. Rain wants no part of this charade, but with four people dead under suspiciously similar circumstances in a matter of months, she has no choice but to play the part of a doting wife and investigate a close-knit group of suburban couples. It’s hard enough to keep up a professional facade when the heat between her and Noah burns so dangerously. But it may be even more dangerous for Rain to let her guard down once she realizes that the couples involved are playing a very sordid—and deadly—game …...

If I thought Justin was hot in the first book, sexy Special Agent Noah is such a great runner up I might have to have a claim on him as well.Neither FBI agent Noah Kayne nor local policewoman Rain Huxtable are particularly happy when they are forced to partner up on a big case. But a serial killer seems to be stalking a swinging community in Nebraska. They have no choice but to shack up and play a married couple to catch this killer. While working undercover the sparks between these two send them both into a serious attraction and the tension mounds. Getting inside the swingers club is easier then either one was expecting. Now with four dead swingers, Noah and Rain must put this killing to a stop but it proves to be far more difficult than they expected. Lorie O'Clare mixes action, mystery, and of course romance. The sexual tension between Rain and Noah is so off the charts you could cut it with a knife with it. The romantic scenes are scorching!!! *swoons over Noah* At first Noah and Rain each fight for dominance both in and out of the bedroom. But as the story progresses each will take their turns being dominant.I loved this story as much as the first one. Noah and Rain are perfect for each other. O'Clare brings such a special treat involving the FBI and local Law Enforcement you cant help to fall in love with them both. Both tough, passionate and willing to do what they have to do to overcome the situation they have been put it. I hope the third book is just as good. I am also hoping this series will grow and grow.Fans will enjoy the escapades of two law enforcement officials finding love while working on this case together. If your a sucker for a man in uniform, passion and romance this is the book for you.

I love Lorie O' Clare books but this wasn't one of her best. An FBI agent and local detective team up to infilitrate a swingers group to find out who was killing off others in the group. It wasn't much of mystery since by the middle of the book I already knew who the killer was. O'Clare tried to throw you off the scent by throwing in silly scenes, but you kind of figured it out. You would think that the premise of a swingers group would throw some sexiness into the story, but the group was boring and unattractive in looks and personality. The feeling between the hero and heroine came off kind of forced and the heroine wasn't very likeable. I couldn't understand why the hero fell in love with her. She was bitchy and abusive. The author also seemed to be obssessed with the heroine hair and her hair clip. She mentioned it so many times that I started wanting to have a drinking game to it. The book was longer than it necessarily needed to be and by the time I figured out who the killer was I just wanted the story to be over.

Note: This review, and all my reviews, comes from my blog - Romantic Rose's Bookshelf (http://romantic-rosesblog.blogspot.com)Possibly in series with Tall, Dark and Deadly; Strong, Sleek and SinfulLong, Lean and Lethal is a book of mostly average devices with occasional extra-ordinary moments. Special Agent Noah Kayne is FBI, sent to Lincoln Nebraska to work with local police as part of a murder investigation there – or several murder investigations, actually. With a possible serial killer who seems to be targeting swingers that are part of a local club, the FBI decides its time to stop playing around and send in the big guns. Local Detective Rain Huxtable, however, is more than a little angry that her investigation is being taken over by the feds – even angrier when she finds out she has to go undercover with one of them, masquerading as his wife. Noah’s wife, more specifically. Rain does NOT like Noah, which is perfectly fine because Noah does NOT like Rain. All is not well for this ‘married’ couple, but it does get better – and hotter. Noah and Rain have an angry, combustible relationship that leads to some great burn-me-up-sex. Noah has skillz, and Rain is more than appreciative even as she struggles desperately to hold on to her tough outer shell and dislike for Noah. While I liked both the characters, Rain and Noah fell a little flat for me and the transitions from angry and resentful to partner were a little too quick and convenient. Noah’s character was pretty good – compassionate, smart, and tough and Rain, for the most part, was consistent but she occasionally acted in strange and mysterious ways. I could’ve used a more emotional take to their romance, with a little more depth and a little less lust. I did like the strength Noah gave Rain, however. That was the part of their relationship I liked the best. The secondary characters were mostly the other members of the swinging club that Rain and Noah infiltrate as part of their investigation. While amusing and intriguing (occasionally in a morbidly fascinating sort of way) I found that the dynamics of the club were never fully explained, so when the killer was revealed I was a little confused as to his/her motive. It also made the story seem like a series of snapshots – vignettes – rather than a fluid, connecting story where the characters were perfectly entwined in their world. I really liked the glimpses we got into Susie’s mind – I thought she was really interesting, again in a creepy way. The suspense was only so-so. I’d figured out who the killer was about halfway through the book, but it was still pretty sudden how Noah and Rain found out. I also had issues figuring out exactly what Noah and Rain were discovering while undercover. Besides having really hot sex, what did they accomplish of value? Not much. The suspense had a lot of holes in it – so any true lover of suspense will find his/herself vastly disappointed in the plot. The book meanders around a half-there suspense plot which was find by me – but anyone who reads suspense regularly will have a harder time with the plot, since it’s pretty unrealistic.“Sexy”ness rating: Hot. Very erotic power-struggle sex. Angry sex. Fun and yummy sex.Overall Rating: B-Bottom Line: A good book for people who like pretty light suspense and don’t mind a few holes in the plot. Great sex, good characters, a fun and easy read.

Uggghhh... I don't know how to review this book. It just fell short in my opinion. Starting off with Rain Huxtable? Rain??? Really? And then when she goes undercover she's Rain Kayne???? *shakes head* Noah was also a bit of an arrogant ass a lot. I found it hard to believe that 6 months ago he was breaking off his engagement because his fiancee wanted to have sex with his best man and him (and get into the swingers lifestyle) and here he is 6 months later working a case where he has to infiltrate that lifestyle and deal with those type of people (not a good choice by his boss in my opinion). The connection between Rain and Noah felt like it came out of nowhere! There was really no substance there. It might be lust-at-first-sight. And manhandling at first sight! I had the killer figured out early, except at the end I got thrown off for a little bit by some things that happened. What a bunch of creepy people! The wife with split personality that talks to herself and has imaginary servants, and in the meantime she's videotaping her husband having sex with his little side girlfriends without him knowing and selling those videos on her own porn sites which she runs from a secret room from her closet?!?!?!And my main complain was that it seemed they didn't much during the whole book to actually catch the killer and do their job! They basically got some lucky breaks in my opinion.

I liked this about as much as Tall, Dark and Deadly. Though given the premise, I should have skipped it. I don't understand the whole swinging concept. If you want multiple lovers, why get married in the first place? I never could understand that.I've always liked the "pretend marriage" theme but I felt that it didn't stand a chance nestled within the whole swinging thing. I felt that the swingers were boring and unattractive. And seriously, who would want to swing with them? I found their "get togethers" pointless. I thought the whole point was to swing but there was no swinging happening. I didn't feel the love. Oh sure there was definitely lust but where was the love? I felt the relationship between Rain and Noah was forced. And what kind of name is Rain Kayne? And not one of the snarky swings made a comment about that ridiculous name. Really? All in all the book just fell flat.

Before reading:omfg i read the blurb on my friends account and then couldn't remember the name and have been searching for this for EVERRRRRR... (okay maybe only 3 months buhhht still!)borrowed the book today .. teehee beyond excited! xDREAD IT! 3.5* (view spoiler)[i thought this would be helluva lot better than Tall, Dark and Deadly and was really hoping it was but i kind of liked the first better. The story to this just dragged a little for me, i loved the couple in Tall Dark and Deadly and although i love Noah and Rain, they just didn't have the chemistry i was looking for. Maybe i got my hopes too high, i mean anything could happen in a house where two hotties are trying to be a happily wedded couple, but i think the story of the swingers and their romance just got tangled and i didn't know which my head was processing more... :/ so umm yeah.. i was a little dissappointed buhhht it was still good!(hide spoiler)]

Ok. Don't get me wrong the storyline itself was good, actually pretty unique. I have never read a romantic suspense surrounding a group of swingers. That being said I think that made it difficult for Noah and Rain to actually form a bond or relationship. They just didn't seem connected as well as the characters of the previous book. The end was anti-climatic for me as well. I had a hard time connecting with Rain as a character, I just didn't get her. Let me state again the story is good but if I have to compare it to the first one it is just not on the same level. If I had read this one first I probably would have rated it differently. Now the sex scenes were still smoking hot and right on par with what I expected from the author. With that being said I still think this will be a great series and I can't wait to read the third installment!

This was a bit strange - I realize I don't know when it was written - despite lots of cool gadgets, it feels like it could be very much a book of the eighties or so. The whole theme of swingers clubs seems terribly out-dated to me, and sordid indeed, with the aging participants all decked out in their gaudy cool get-up... The relationship between the hero and heroine is good, although Rain's obsession with her dad verges on the too much. Likewise Brenda's attitude towards Noah seems to have some sort of hidden agenda, but presumably this was just a red herring. It looks like this was the second in a series, but I did not have the impression I missed out on anything by not having read the first.

As much as I tried to like this book and think it was amazing, I just couldn't.First of all, its the Heroine, I just...simply DESPISED her. And to tell the truth, I don't think she deserved the Hero. And numero 2, the romance and steam factor. It wasn't there. Looking at the cover I was hoping for a decent romance story with decent sex in it. I admit there was sex but it looked forced.Third, the hero. I liked him and I guess he is the best part of the book. I admit he wasn't as sexy as Trace Rivers from Lori Foster's Trace of Fever or Jackson Savor from Savor the Danger but he was okay I guess. Not my type of book and I am deff not gonna buy it.

I'm torn on my review of this book. I liked the characters and I liked the plot idea with the swingers so normally I would probably rate this book about a four BUT the way Rain kept thinking about her dad at weird times like during sex really wigged me out and totally took me out of the story which kind of drops it down to a 2 in those areas so I'm leveling out at a 3 star rating. If you can get past the weird references to her dad then it's a good book. The hero is sexy and strong which is always good with me and the heroine is a good match for him.

Rain and Noah made the perfect match, they joined a married swingers club to find a psycho who was killing off members in the group. I loved it, sparks flew as undercover cop Rain and FBI agent Noah fought the attraction they both held for one another. SMH.... O'Clare is b/coming a must read author for me!!!:)

what an ending... meet Rain and Noah trying to find out whom the serial killer is. They have to team up and become a couple so they can join a swingers group. They are both undeniably attractive and trying to do their assigned job is a task. Who will find out who the killer is. will they stay together or will their jobs keep them apart. i look forward to the third one STRONG,SLEEK AND SINFUL

Read through this one pretty fast, mostly because there wasn't much to the story line (for me anyway) to hold up the reading. Kind of repetitive on some aspects, and at times the dialogue was funny when I'm sure it wasn't meant to be. Got another one of her books I'll read later but probably won't become a regular reader.

I found this book at a book sale for $.25 so I guess I got my money's worth. Boring, predictable, silly and confusing at times. This is the first I've read of this author's work so I'm willing to give her one more chance and see if she can pull off a story. The title should have warned me off...Strong, Sleek and Sinful?! We'll see.

I stumbled upon the FBI series by O'Clare after reading the Bounty Hunter Series. O'Clare blends the suspense nicely and keeps you guessing on the outcome. While making sure to give you just enough HOT to keep you coming back.

I am going to give it 3 1/2 stars. The story was great store, however the the cliffhanger at the end was a little lacking. I was expecting more not sure what but just more then what I got. The ending between noah and rain was good and made up for the not so good ending to the investigation.

A bit hard to get into at first,(as I had just read a paranormal before it) but once I did, it was awesome! This book really keeps you in suspense until the very end! Excellent story, great characters. Lorie O'Clare delivers yet again!

I enjoyed this book, Long, Lean and Lethal, as well as the last one, Tall, Dark and Deadly. I will start Strong, Sleek and Sinful next. I read the first chapter and was in no rush to go on. But once I picked it up again I did not want to put it down. And isn't that what you want from a book!

This is a very enjoyable book. It is sexy, suspenseful and includes a very unstable group of swingers. It was fun figuring it out, obvious, but still a good amount of suspense. This brings sleeping with the enemy to another level.

DNFThe whole premise was too artificial and contrived for me. "We're infiltrating a group of swingers, so we'd better sleep together first"?!
