A free copy of this book was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.I would have enjoyed this story more if it hadn't ended on a cliffhanger. Alexandra has a secret ... Keeping this secret has impacted her relationship with her live-in boyfriend Paul & has her questioning the direction of her life. Now there are questions about Paul's fidelity. So what's a girl to do?Run away to live on a Georgia cotton farm with your aunt, that's what. Oh, and go back to school. Never mind that nursing degree ... English will be a much better credential?Things in the south start out fabulously. Alex makes new friends ... Gets a job at the hospital ... Meets Blaise - who also has a secret. The premise of the story was good. Blaise's situation was actually a little unique & could make for a really great story on its own. I wasn't a big fan of all of the characters. But they did bring out some emotion in me - even if it was anger. But the ending ... cliffhanger. I am not a huge fan of the cliffhanger for this type of story - It just feels like the book is unfinished. A solid read.

I can't review this right now as I'm too upset at myself for reading another gooddamn cliffhanger! So Pro's- Likeable secondary characters - Likeable H/h- Dual POV - We all know I'm a sucker for a male's POV - As an Aussie I know nothing about the South or cotton picking. Yet E.L Todd gave me enough description and background that I felt like I knew what they were talking about. Con's - Goddamn Danielle... I mean really Blaise? - The story did drag in parts.- The re-introduction of Paul.. again... why?- A goddamn cliffhanger! why?!? it could have wrapped up nicely in one book I think.

Hmmmmm,...wth was that ending???? Lol, Like there are cliffhangers and then there are abrupt endings. I should have a review or something first then I would have known to be prepared, lol. I seriously thought my kindle had broke. Sigh......As far as the story goes, I was very intrigued. I seem to love these stories where the character comes home and someone was where they came from the whole time anyway. However sometimes it did feel a little rushed, like that whole insta-love thing. You know what im talking about. One minute sloppy joes, next minute telling secrets she wouldn't even tell her boyfriend of 2 years about and planning forever. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. It's not really that it didn't here, I just felt like whoooosh time has gone by, right? Wait, what? No? Wow, lol. Sometimes I loved Blaise. (Which I think that name is so hot!!) next minute he sorta went beyond alpha to stalker ish, possessive ass whole, and then the next he's crying?? He kinda swung into the emotions to far for me which made him come across sometimes as an ass, and I didn't want him to be that I wanted him to be THE GUY! Ya know? Most of the time he worked it, but if I was a girl, and I had just decided to date a guy, and another guy that I'm just a friend with walked up to check on me and new guy throws him down...? I'm running the other direction. Just saying. That was ummm some insta-possessiveness. And I want my restraining order now type stuff, lol. I also felt there was some underlying story between Blaise and Gabe. Anybody else feel that?? Speaking of Gabe, he drove me crazy. He wants to date Alex so bad, and he can come off as a total jerkoff after the fallout, but he also came across to me as the gay best friend too.....?? Weird, maybe it's just me, lol. Danielle, I actually think I wanted Evan to really come and just take care of her already. My gawd! What oh what is it that we dont know about her yet that is such a big secret??? And then paul,....sorry, I just don't believe him. IMO, if that's all that went down he could've explained that at the beginning of the book and then maybe she wouldn't have left in the first place, just saying. And the way he twisted things n the end to make the whole breakup her fault, gosh I hate that in real life. And of course Alex. I have no idea what any of these guys see in her, seriously. Over dramatic, completely untrusting, which I get to a point, but come on, and then at the end, she let Paul talk her into apologizing for what she did to him when he did what he did. I really want to read more, seriously. I think maybe if this arc had a little more editing. Maybe a little more character development and instead of the abrupt cliffy just combined the two or however many, into one it could really be a good story. I was drawn in sometimes to the point you couldn't have pried my kindle out of my hands but also sometimes, maybe one of the characters did something a little out of character (Blaise crying, guys I know guys cry but I have him pictured all badass alpha and I don't want my alphas crying, sorry just my opinion) or maybe the story would drag a little and I would lose touch a little. This whole Paul thing is going to drive me mad. I want her with Blaise and only him. Yes with possibly a restraining order, I kid , I kid, but seriously they both are going to have to get their stuff right. Blaise is going to have to be the man that all real life men are and throw the clinger out and Alex is going to have to grow up a bit and stop being a drama queen. Can't wait for more!!! :)

Copy provided per author in exchange for honest review!Ok, so this is one of those books that I honestly sit straddling a fence on! I have things that I truly enjoyed and others that I could not overlook as they are on my on my all time pet peeve list! Brief synopsis...Alexandra flees to Georgia from NYC after trauma at her work place weighs heavy on her. She pulls away from everything and everyone she loves...feeling betrayed and worthless she sets out for a new life. Now in a small cotton town she hides with her Aunt, keeping her past a mystery. She enrolls in a local college with no real goal to her life plan. New friends, new lifestyle and a very sexy new suitor to boot! Life seems to be plugging along until life seems to repeat itself and her new "love" Blaise shatters her heart. Trust me there is a lot more going on in than that, but again I hate spoilers! There is a lot of miscommunication, scheming exes and misjudged people. What I liked:The overall story caught my attention. I was liking most of the characters as they had some potential. I also enjoyed some of the mystery behind the characters, as the author really kept me guessing as to whether or not anyone could be trusted. I especially liked the heat index...Once Alex and Blaise took hold, they were pretty hot and heavy and miss Alex is quite the aggressor! My issues:First I really dislike cliffhangers! I know it will get me to the next read, but way too much was left to the imagination here. Second, I think I could have missed something in terms of Alex and Blaise's night of sloppy joe's and next meeting they are "best friends" and pledging forever kind of vows. Also, I have no idea what makes Alex so damn special..she had 3 men vying for her attention and they each are determined to wait til eternity for her! What? she is bit untrusting, judgmental and completely wishy all time pet peeve!Overall, I think this had great potential...I just couldn't connect with the fast love after being in an 2yr relationship that just ended badly. I think I needed a bit more story to develop Blaise and Alex and then I would have appreciated the angst more.Would I recommend to friends...PERHAPS, but only once the series is complete as it was ended too abrupt and unbelievable!

***I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review****. Oh and I promise NO SPOILERS as I simply hate those types of reviews. This is the first time I've felt an age difference was a hindrance while reading a book. I've been out of high school longer than the main characters have been alive. Wait, I forget Blaise's age, so maybe as long as he's been alive. Reading books with younger characters and being around them in my real life, are what help to keep in touch with younger generations and help me to feel young at heart. I enjoyed the story and the characters were a like a breathe of fresh air. So why did I give a 3 star review? I spent the whole book wanting to slap the main characters upside the head! I spent the entire book wanting to knock some sense into these people and I'm not a violent person. Really, I'm not. I wanted to tell them to stop playing these childish dating games that people play in high school, you're adults, f'ng act like it. GGGRRR I hated games in high school and I still hate reading about them. However, that won't stop me from reading the next book to see how the story turns out.

3.5 stars!!After catching her boyfriend of two years cheating on her, Alexandra finds herself moving far, far away from her New York stomping ground and back in her home roots of Georgia. Now faced with having to restart her entire life with school, a new job and friends, and keeping her aunt's cotton acre alive, how will she succumb to the new changes? And with a guilty conscious to mend, will Alexandra ever forgive herself and continue her dream of working as a nurse? Now throw in three men who are out to win her heart with one's ex flame still very much in the picture and you have yourself a story! My thoughts: I'll admit, there was one point of the story where it really dragged and I nearly gave up on it. But I'm glad I didn't.In all retrospect, I, in fact, really enjoyed this story. It's crazy how she has to juggle three men vying for her affection but I guess when you're the new girl in town it's easy to make a splash upon men. Hmm.I really now can't wait to see how things unfold even more in book two as Alexandra finds herself even more in a tricky situation and the stakes rising. It's going to be interesting for sure! And as for Blaise, her love interest, I hope he really puts his foot down with Danielle and even his uncle in the next installment!! They really need to be put in their places! Grr!So anyway, a very fast and easy read about love, passion, trust, forgiveness, starting anew, and chasing your dreams!Until then, I will be anxiously on the lookout for book two, Then Came Indecision, coming to you real soon!*I was offered a copy of this book by the author in exchange for review. Thank you!*

Free copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review! "That's how love is supposed to be dear. You don't need more than one day to figure it out." When i firstly decided to read the book i didn't really know what the book was about. But, as i kept on reading, i liked how the story was unraveling... "Well, not everyone finds their soul mate." The truth is, even if i overall really liked the concept of the book, i was expecting to see more passionate and intence scenes and a little reacher plot. Concerning the characters, I have to say that i really loved them!! I love it when characters seem real to me and tha is exactly how i would describe them. Moreover, i could relate to them and i didn't only enjoyed the company of the main characters but the secondary characters too! All in all, the book was pretty fast paced and very easy to read and enjoy! I really enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the second one "Then Came Indecision"You are my everything Alexandra."#Good Job Ms Todd and thank you for the free copy!!#

"ARC kindly provided by author for an honest review" Spoiler free review. This was solid, sweet 4 stars read!I really loved it!Read it in one sitting. It was little short for my taste but i wasn't disapointed. This is first book in series and i'm looking forward to read next one too. This is a story about one broken girl.A story about three boys chasing her,and story about frenship and broken promisses.I did not like hero in this one.Ok,I loved him at first. He was so sweet and madass possessive and all southern alpha just the way I loved them...but then he fucked up ewerything...Ok,he didn't lied to her but he didn't tell her everything on time and he screwed up big time! So,I'm not telling anything more!I said it's spoiler free review,so you have to go and buy a book and see for yourself! All in all,I really loved this book.I can't wait for second one in series to come out!And that major cliffhanger isn't helping me either...

**Then Came Alexandra was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**I had high hopes for this story based on the hot cover, the blurb, and the first couple of chapters. Unfortunately, Then Came Alexandra didn't work out for me. There is no continuity to the plot, it's all over the place. There is nursing and physics and cotton farming and North/South Korea business deals. I don't know it just went too many places with no real development of even one major plot line. The dialogue is choppy and there were times I found myself having to re-read so I could understand who was speaking. The characters in the story are compelling, however, underdeveloped as well. If we had more of them together and better dialogue between the two I think they could be really great. This book just didn't work for me. I thought it had great potential but fell flat. It also leaves off with a pretty big cliffhanger based on the indesiveness of a main character. There are other really great reviews for the story so hopefully it will work for you.

Why would a Southern girl who has been to the Big Apple, earned her nursing degree, gotten a rewarding job and lived with the man she loved hightail it out of there for a cotton farm in a small town back in the south? Deceit, pain, infidelity and the disillusionment of the reality of medicine could do it.Alexandra needs a fresh start or to run away and lick her wounds and her aunt’s cotton farm seems to be the perfect place to re-invent herself and gain some focus until Blaise saunters into her life. Tall, handsome and seemingly an honorable man, Alex finds her hope for love rekindled. Although she holds her secrets close, she dares to trust again and tells all to this amazing man.Blaise has secrets, too, a really big secret that the entire town knows about, or they think they do. Out of a misguided sense of protectiveness and honor, Blaise is involved with another woman who just happens to live with him, although he has “tried” to get her to leave. There is no romantic involvement. So why not be honest with Alexandra? Thanks to a “friend” who claims he cares about Alex, she discovers Blaise’s secret and once again, she has been deceived by a man she trusted and cared for. A tormented Blaise would do anything to win her back, anything but tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But does he have competition for Alex’s heart? The old clashes with the new, as three men vie for Alex’s attentions. Are any of them trustworthy or do they all have secrets they withhold? Then Came Alexandra by E. L. Todd adds a new level of drama and tension to romance with just enough tweeking of a popular genre that there are some fresh elements to enjoy. She writes with a passion for her story, while not succumbing to page after page of explicit sexual tension and detail. Her characters are damaged, have been hurt and fail to communicate with candor. Alex often seemed so wrapped up in hiding her past that she was missing out on a future and a truly fresh start. Blaise runs the gamut from attentive lover and over-protective knuckle-dragging male to doormat to his live in ex-lover. For a wealthy and successful business man and farmer, he has a huge collection of problems that do not seem to be addressed appropriately, and yes, he has been less than honest. Is it their ages, early twenties, that make everything such a hurdle? Is E. L. Todd telling us how, no matter what, the webs we weave will trip us up, especially without years of life experience? With a wonderful hook to the next book in this series, this tale and these characters leave such a beehive of buzzing questions that I need to know how Alex will handle all of this male attention, as well as “the ex,” both hers and Blaise’s.I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.Series: Southern Love - Book 1Publication Date: March 14, 2014Publisher: E. 5 stars!I have to wonder why this book does not have more reviews. I seriously L-O-V-E-D it!!The author E.L. Todd sent me a message on Goodreads and offered to let me read a copy of the book for an honest review.. So here we go..Alex (Alexandra) is the main girl in this story. She opens the book getting ready to leave her boyfriend of two years Paul, in New York. He isn't exactly taking the news well, and we learn that he had cheated on Alex, on top of a traumatic event she experienced while working as a nurse in the ER she is ready for a change. She moves back home to Savannah Georgia, with her Aunt Martha, who is a widow and cotton farmer. She's pretty amazing and seriously the closest thing to a mom Alex has ever really had. Alex meets two girls her second day in, Hannah and Lana who at first gave off the "ditz" vibe and I had a feeling I wouldn't like them, but they turned that right around quick. They take Alex under their wings and really become great friends with her along with Gabe (who kind of has the hots for Alex)Blaise.. Okay.. Seriously.. The man is SMOKING hot.. I can't even explain him. I read a lot of books, but I found myself liking him a lot more than I normally do my fictional guys. I think I felt for him. he was a strong guy who has been through a lot in his life, and the secret that he is holding on to, in regards to Danielle (view spoiler)[who is still living with Blaise because she has a crazy abusive ex (hide spoiler)] is pretty intense, and even though he makes it clear he is tired of keeping said secret he really has no choice and it rips him and Alex apart. I was kind of hoping she would find a way to forgive him before the story ended, but she really couldn't. Not that I blame her. I found Blaise trying to get her back to be a little bit like 'The Notebook The ending came WAY too soon for me, Paul finds Alex and her reveals several things (view spoiler)[like he never cheated on Alex, he kissed a girl (hide spoiler)] like that makes any difference. I don't like him. I don't like him at all!!I couldn't put this story down, I seriously was amazing at the writing in this book. It was exactly what I love to read, the story kind of kept you guessing and the insta love I felt for Blaise made it so much better!! The scenes between these two were hot, they loved each other something fierce and I felt all of it. I cannot wait to read the next book. Thank you E.L. Todd for letting me read this!! Free copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.Overall, this book was ok and I'll be waiting for book two to come out. (Have I ever mentioned i HATE CLIFFHANGERS?!?!?! UGH!) I think Alexandra is a bit of a drama queen. The reason she left her job in nursing, the job she's always wanted since she was little, seems to be a bit of a stretch for me. Was it tragic? Yes. Enough to leave your dream job? Not IMO. Things happen for pete's sake! And she won't tell her boyfriend of two years, whom she lives with, what happened? WHY??? Then, on top of that, she leaves him for something she suspects he did but doesn't bother to find out the truth? Odd if you ask me, especially considering you uprooted your life to be with this guy. Blaise seems like a nice (HOT) guy who tried to do the right thing with the dreaded Danielle. Now, I understand getting sucked in by drama, etc., but he's gone above and beyond what a typical guy would do in his situation. And the story behind Danielle's "fear" .. WTH is that all about? It's like a little nat buzzing around in the story but you don't really know WHAT is going on. I would have appreciated a little more story behind THAT story. And Paul, Hmmmm ... The jury is still out on him. I dont' WANT TO like him because I want Alex and Blaise together. Paul hasn't given up, you gotta give him props for that, don't you?? Looks like we're heading for a love triangle!!!

*** ARC WAS GIVEN FOR HONEST REVIEW***This book was not one of my favorites it was okay. It started off a little slow where you were trying to figure out what Alexandra's little secret was and if she will get over the fear. She decided to leave New York and go live with her aunt and start a new life where she met annoying friends for my taste and a hot guy. The moment Blaise and Alexandra met was like intent love for them. They did not show it at first but both where craving each other and both was keeping secrets from each other. There relationship involves fast and slow and I wanted to kill Blaise every time he lied to Alexandra I mean this secret is huge. He has a girl living with him and they dated each other, the rest of the town still thinks they dating and thats how he should keep it. Anyway, this all comes to a head and much to their mutual devastation. They break-up. No-one knows the truth in why he has to stay by his girlfriend and they have to keep it that way. The book ends with a cliff hanger - and despite my constant eye-rolling and sighing throughout... I want to see what will happen next.

I was given a copy of this book by the author in return for a review.Alexandra is a nurse living in New York with her long standing boyfriend Paul. Then something happens at work, a terrible accident and Alexandra turns in on herself, pushing Paul away. His response was to cheat. When Alex finds out she leaves for Georgia ending things with Paul.Staying with her Aunt, Alex decides to return to college and find a job. She doesn't want to be a burden on her Aunt any longer than nessessary. Starting afresh Alex starts a new life, making new friends. Then she meets Blaise. This is a fast moving first instalment in this series. To be honest I didn't think I was going to like it when I started to read, it felt like it was going to be a bit of a rehash of so many other romance books I've read. But the author made the story line seem fresh and original. The characters are very well fleshed out for such a quick read. The story moves along at a very brisk pace, with more surprises happening as you read. There are secrets, lies, sex and betrayal. I can't wait to read the next book.

**I was provided an ARC for my honest review**Then Came Alexandra by E.L. Todd is the first book in what she is calling The Southern Love Series. Alexandra is a young women living in New York. I really should say she is existing in New York. When we first meet her she's leaving her boyfriend of two years Paul after finding out that he has supposedly cheated on her. She's been going through some really difficult emotional times, having withdrawn into herself after something tragic has happened which we aren't privy to just yet. She leaves Paul and immediately hops on a plane and heads to Savannah, Georgia to stay with her Aunt Martha. Aunt Martha owns land and raises cotton, and she's always been like a mother to Alexandra. As soon as she arrives she enrolls in college and Aunt Martha introduces her to some girls that she becomes fast friends with. So far so good, starting college and meeting new people, hopefully this is a good sign she's getting her life back on track.Next we meet Blaise, who has inherited his father's cotton plantation when his parents were killed by a drunk driver. He's young and gorgeous, running the biggest cotton fields around, but he's got a secret. And his secret is tearing him up. When Aunt Martha throws her back out, she calls Blaise to come help her with her cotton fields, and Blaise and Alexandra meet. And the sparks fly right away. There's an instant attraction they each can't deny, but Alexandra is running from Paul, and Blaise has this secret....Inevitably their attraction to each other wins out. They are explosive together, their heat and passion was scorching. They spend more and more time together and have declared they are "together" and boyfriend/girlfriend but decide to keep their relationship a secret. Alexandra doesn't want to tell her friends just yet because her male friend Gabe asked her out when they first met but she turned him down, saying she didn't want to date anyone. Hmmmm, more secrets which always leads to trouble. Blaise is OK with keeping their secret since he has one of his own that he hasn't told Alexandra yet.Alex begins working at a hospital as a technician although she could be so much more as we find out she was a nurse in New York. She and Blaise spend more and more time together. She opens up and tells him what happened in New York that caused her to give up being a nurse. Perfect time for him to reveal his secret to her since she' sharing right? Nope, he's still not talking, since he doesn't know how to resolve his situation. While out to lunch with her girlfriends and Gabe, she meets Blaise's brother so she decides to finally reveal to her friends that she's been dating Blaise. What happens next breaks her heart. Now she has Blaise basically stalking her, trying to win her back. She has Gabe being a guard dog, never leaving her side and trying to keep Blaise away from her. How Alex doesn't see that Gabe wants to be more than her friend is really beyond me. And to top it all off, as the book is coming to an end her ex-boyfriend Paul shows up and explains to her exactly what happened when they were together. And he tells her he's not leaving her in Savannah, that he wants to work everything out with her before they head back to New York.Poor Alexandra. Her life was in shambles, she leaves it all behind and starts over in Savannah thinking she's finally found her happily ever after only to have it ripped out of her grasp again. The book ends with a cliffhanger, so be prepared for that. I think I knew that, but must have subconsciously decided to ignore that so I was annoyed when it ended. Now I have to read the next book. like now, to find out what happens!Overall I very much enjoyed the book. The story flowed smoothly and I felt E.L. gave us a good background for the story. I had issues with some spelling and grammar errors. I'm very anal about those things so they glare at me like red flags when I read books. I felt a little annoyed with Alexandra sometimes because she constantly wanted to hide from her issues. She said, "I don't want to talk about it" way too may times and no one called her out on it, particularly Aunt Martha. The speed of which Alexandra falls for Blaise didn't bother me at all, it happens all the time, but I was a little put off by how quickly they went from barely expressing anything to suddenly have possession over each other. "“So, are we together? I hate to be this way, but I just want to make sure.” He stared at her. “I don’t want you to see anyone else but me. And I have no interest in anyone else but you.” His eyes stared into hers, paralyzing her with their intensity. “Good.” I would have preferred a little bit more of a buildup in their relationship, but as I said before, people fall in love quickly. This was the first book I've read of E.L. Todd and I really did enjoy it. There's drama and passion and angst and miscommunications and everything needed in the pot to make a good love story. There's one beautiful girl with three guys chasing her - who wouldn't want to be her! And a damn cliffhanger! Gah!! Now I have to read the other two books so I can find out what happens!!

I just finished reading Then Came Alexandra and I'm so eager to write my thoughts about it. Alexandra had an awful experience in her work in a hospital that made her reclusive and couldn't move on from it to the point she lost her interest in work as a nurse even if she was extremely good at it. She didn't confided with anyone including her boyfriend Paul which I think is unfair. What made it worst is Alexandra having suspicions her boyfriend was being unfaithful which prompted her to leave and she landed in her aunt's house in Georgia Savannah. I like it when girls, heartbroken and lost, have the guts and determination to star anew and when you make that decision, you should seize the fresh start and be whole again before you let yourself get involve again in a relationship which is the exact opposite of what Alexandra did after meeting Blaise. I thought they will remain friends for a while, but no, they could not suppress the strong attraction and undeniable feelings they have for each other and hastily committed into a relationship without being completely honest especially on Blaise end.Blaise is an owner of a family lucrative cotton business, protective, responsible and a principled man. He wouldn't engage in a business deal that will compromise the integrity and vision of the business. I admire his commitment to take care of the business as promised to his deceased father, however, he is in dilemma in keeping the business and fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. And like others, Blaise made bad decisions in life he regret for as long as he live and one of them is Danielle who is like a leech who wouldn't leave no matter how Blaise would kick her out. Harsh tone and face filled with rage wouldn't just work on Danielle. She's a lazy insensitive bitch!I immensely enjoyed reading Then Came Alexandra from beginning to end. The Hero and Heroine has their own flaws and endearing qualities. I love the fact the I easily got familiar with the characters in the story. The insulting banter between Blaise and Gabe is really funny, acting like highschool kids fighting and trying to protect the same girl. Then Came Alexandra is an easy read with a good pacing. The flow of the story can easily capture the interest of the readers. After reading a couple reviews about it, I expected a cliffhanger but oh my, I didn't expect the ending to be that way. Needless to say, I am so looking forward to the next installment. I have no idea how E. L Todd will work on the next sequel without breaking anyone's heart. All I can say as early as now is that I am going to be addicted to this series. This story made me realized how important honesty is in a relationship. If you omit the truth, whether intentionally or unintentionally, it will end in disaster and to earn back someone's trust would be the most challenging thing to do and sometimes no matter how hard you try, you won't just succeed.Thank you E.L Todd for the free copy.

A fast and easy read about love, honesty, trust and trying to get a hold of new beginnings while the past keeps getting in the way.E.L. Todd does a great job of gripping you at the beginning of the story when Alexadra is clearly not wanting to cope with a rather traumatic incident at her place of work and decides to run from it by leaving everything behind and moving with her aunt to her home town. It’s an intriguing start because we don’t know what happens at her nursing job and there’s added drama revolving her closed off attitude. Because of it, her soon to be ex-boyfriend Paul can’t get past the walls Alex has erected around herself and has been pushing him away. His solution for this is to drown himself in alcohol and keep company with female friends, giving Alex a good excuse to bail on their long term relationship. While trying to figure out her new purpose and direction in life staying and helping out her aunt Martha, she meets sexy, loyal and very interested Blaise. Who is also keeping his own secrets and has his own life troubles. His biggest concern and secret is having his very unpleasant ex-girlfriend living with him in an effort to help keep her safe from her other ex-boyfriend. Here’s one of the places where I have trouble with the plot. There are nurses and doctors, farmers and college students, but there seems to be no local police authority to which this on-the-look-for-death-and-vengeance ex-boyfriend could be reported to and solve Blaise’s misery, Alexandra or no Alexandra in the picture. As we read about Blaise and Alex, phrases like “honesty is the best policy,” “honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom,” “The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty,” keep coming to mind. A friendship and any further relationship is bound to fail without this. And although Alex is open with Blaise about her work incident, she isn’t really owning here faults and mistakes in her past relationship. Blaise is plainly withholding information from her. And together these two made for several eye rolls on my part.Despite of my issues with the plot and characters I’m really curious to know how the drama unfolds. Because there is added excitement at the end which makes for a very climactic cliffhangery ending. *** I was given an ARC from the amazing E. L. Todd in exchange for my honest review***

i love the story..a story about Alex, a girl who has been secretly blaming herself from the death of her patient, which he didn't disclose to anyone even to her boyfriend Paul. Having gone through this he shuts herself from everyone. Paul thought she is having some problem in their relationship and that she is trying to distant herself from him, which leads him (Paul) to look for some comfort through other women. Alex finding out that Paul cheated on him, no matter how hard he explains, can't trust him anymore, and also to forget what happens to her work, leaves everything she has in New York and went to Georgia to start her new life.being in Georgia is a breather for her, with how beautiful her Aunt Martha's farm is, and also having new friend, enrolling to a new course, though she dreads working to a hospital again she has no choice, but it is still a new start for her. what excites me the most is when they (Blaise and Alex) met for the first time, I really felt their emotion. It is really a blessing in disguise how they met, if it weren't for Martha being sick and everything. Blaise has an issue on his own, I just hope he got rid of Danielle. she is too much of a burden, i even tagged her parasite. They do love each other very much, I can feel the emotions, the passion they had as i read their story. I just hoped Blaise had been honest from the start, this would have prevented the issue they had in the end of this book.all in all i really wanted to shout in the end.. a total cliffhanger.. having a twist in the end.. a revelation from Paul.. leaving New York just to pursue Alex.. Alex having three men in his life, Paul her ex-boyfriend, Blaise her true love, and Gabe who is always there for her.. really looking forward for the next installment.i would like to thank the author, E.L. Todd for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review..the moment i started reading it I can't possibly put it down.. I have to know what happens in the end.. but to my dismay.. looking forward.. THEN CAME INDECISION.. wanted to know what happens to Alex, Blaise, & Paul..

4.5 starsI was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. This was my first book by E. L Todd and I really loved it. The story is about Alexandra. Alexandra has a secret, something happened in her life and she is struggling to get past it. The book starts with Alexandra leaving her boyfriend Paul after he cheated on her. Alexandra packs her packs and runs to Georgia to her aunt and she doesn’t tell anyone where she goes. Her aunt runs a cotton farm. Not long after being there she meets Blaise who helps out on the farm. One meeting there is instance chemistry and connection between Alexandra and Blaise, as they grow closer to each other they both struggle to deal with opening up to each other and sharing each other secrets. I won’t say to much more about the plot because I don’t want to give it away. There is lots going on in this book it kept me hooked throughout. It was very fast paced. I liked the mystery of working out Alexandra’s secret. I had near enough worked it out when it was revealed . The story is mainly told from Alexandra’s POV but there are also points where it’s from Blaise POV. I feel like there could nearly be enough for a book on Blaise’s background and how he got to where he is in this story. As well as all the drama there are plenty of hot steamy scenes. Although a lot happens in the book, I read it fairly quickly in a couple of hours. It does also end on a cliff-hanger and I’m pleased that the next book is released so that I can read it.Overall a great sexy, hot enjoyable read. I will be looking to read some of author E.L Todd’s other series in the near future.

***I was given an ARC in exchange for a honest review***This was a great storyline. Alexandra had an incident at work and it caused her to be distant with her partner. I don't understand exactly why she couldn't talk to him, I guess she was just so upset with herself, but she was closed off from him for awhile and then she hears rumours about him. This is the tipping point for her and the excuse she uses to leave him and her home. In a way I felt sorry for her boyfriend. She leaves the state to go to her Aunts farm. She makes some friends, gets a job, the usual stuff but she doesn't try to fix herself. Just covers her problems. In comes Blaise, and Boy does he come with cray cray baggage. I don't know what I'd do in his shoes but he too should've focused on fixing himself. Both characters where hiding things from each other right from the start and you could predict the storm approaching, but OMG they were hot together. Though at least her problem doesn't effect the relationship. Oh the drama that comes when shit hits the fan. Even though as the reader you know his issue, it makes you wanna scream at him for not doing more in the first place. If he sorted his shit out the ending may not of been as messy.....ah the ending.....OMG love/hate it. It's not a huge cliffhanger but it def makes you antsy for the next one. Some things have shed a new light creating one big giant mess ball for Alexandra. Overall this story had emotion, romance, drama, secrets, good side characters, cray cray side characters, it had a lot going on. Hopefully the second one will be just as great

I*** was given an ARC from the amazing E. L. Todd in exchange for my honest review***So how should I begin? I think the way I Like...So, ok, let me spill it. Take: One screwed up girl... One mistake....Andone hard break-upAnd mix it with One stunning Sourthern gentleman... Too noble to make the right decision (view spoiler)[that eventually ruins their relationship(hide spoiler)]And you get it all - and mainly the novelThen Came AlexandraIt was a very nice and sweet read and shoul tell you the truth I really liked ut. Erica's style is so good for me that I can simply devour it. (Maybe it's due to the fact that English is my second language but maybe not) But somewhere in the middle I was getting annoyed. Annoyed at the stupid actions, at their inability to see that the are so easily manipulated and I couldn't do anything about it.But all in all, Alex is such a sweet and caring girl (view spoiler)[that I hope that she'll manage to fight her demons and we'll be an excellent nurse and Blaise will find the way to win her back (hide spoiler)]Will they manage to survive or will their past haunt htem forever? This book ended in such a huge cliffhanger that I'm surely looking forward to the next one!!!!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

first things first, I loved Blaise!! he was sweet, adorable, carrying, and compassionate. I wasn't a really big fan of his instant possessive nature over Alexandra, but I really felt bad for the multiple tough situations that he was in, and really want him to get his HEA. I'm not sure how I feel about Alexandra, however. Initially, I really liked her. She seemed like a very determined, down to earth person, who just had a patch of bad luck. Towards the end of the book, I really was getting to the point that I don't like Alexandra very much, she was allowing outside opinions to sway her view and future of her relationship (or lack-there-of). The last bit of the book really irritated the hell out of me, between Gabe and Paul one can only deal with so much indecisiveness. Alex started out strong as a female lead and then completely crumbled. While I understand confusion over the Alexandra/Blaise/Danielle issue. The Danielle/Gabe and the Danielle/Paul relationships should have been a completely moot points, it just seemed like unnecessary drama. I'm not a big fan of cliffhangers, especially when it is left during that high of a level of angst. I'm really hoping Alexandra is going to grow up really quickly and trust what's in her heart and soon. I kind of feel a whole Taking Chances/Metamorphosis-Ambrosia-Euphoria type situation coming on, which I've always thought was a crappy way to make an indecisive character end up with someone without growing up an actually making a choice. I'm not sure how I feel about moving on to any future books in this series,

Then Came Alexandra is a story about conflicts.. Conflict between what one wants as opposed to what your conscience dictates you should do to help others.... Conflict between what your heart dictates and what morality is forcing you to do...Conflict between your guilt compared to learning to move on...It is a story about a broken girl running from her past. Because of an accident at the hospital where she works then finding out that her boyfriend cheated on her, Alexandra moved from New York back to her hometown in Georgia where she meets Blaise.Blaise is a selfless, stand-up kind of guy who is compelled to help others, even to his own detriment. He has dreams different from what he is doing at the moment, but his dream takes a back seat so he can do what he thinks is best for his family. He is almost perfect as a boyfriend - hot, good-looking, sweet, compassionate.. his only flaw, ironically, is also his best quality - compassion for others. It brings him a lot of trouble, a.k.a. Danielle. ( I wanted to be a character in this story and find Evan myself so I can tell him to do his absolute worst to this girl, lol!)There are other interesting characters in the the story, like Paul and Gabe, and I'm looking forward to finding out what's in store for them. Though I'm still team Blaise, the ending threw me for a loop and changed my opinion on a character. Thank you, E.L.Todd for the free copy! Looking forward to the next book..

Okay, so I couldn't put the book down. I needed to know what happened to Alexandria in NY. I can understand the need to get away after something terrible happens and then your boyfriend cheats on you. I didn't like Paul at all...she better wake up and realize someone who loves you would not seek comfort of any kind from someone else. Please tell me Alex does not give him a second chance. UGH. I really liked Blaise...he is one hot Southern alpha male. I thought the spark between him and Alexandra was strong and you are routing for them. She tells him all her secrets which tells you she trust and cares for him. I wanted to smack him for his decisions especially with how hem allows Danielle to control him. WTH...he doesn't owe her anything. I am looking forward to book 2. I hope Alexandra wakes up about Paul and stops her indecision she is in. Also, Blaise needs to take some control and maybe hurt some people's feelings in order to gain the upper hand. Too many people messing with him. Bring on book 2.

3.5 StarsI was given a ARC for an honest reviewWhere to begin. Alex was a women who was hurt, instead of dealing with her problems she packs up and runs off to Georgia. She doesn't tell anyone where she is going, she just vanishes. She shows up on her aunts door steps and begins a new life. She had been a RN in New York but because of something that happened decided she couldn't be a nurse anymore so she takes a job as a tech, being in the medical field myself i found the events that took place a bit unbelievable and unrealistic. In regards to love interest. She leaves Paul whom she believes cheated on her and then within days is falling for Blaise. He has so many issues that he became annoying quickly. I liked him but got sick of the Danielle drama quickly. Honestly the love story was a bit middle schoolish. All in all the book was decent but not what I generally enjoy. A bit to much angst and whining for me. Oh and to top it off it ends with a major cliff hanger. I generally hate those kind of endings.

this book has been quite the list of firsts for me: first book from this author, first book so deep in the south, and of course, my first arc review.i'm honestly super confused after reading this. two things i absolutely cannot handle are cheating and love triangles; they just don't do it for me. i quite liked how the book started out, and at times the dialogues were stilted, but what i read was the arc, so that may change. i'm not judging because of that. the ending left me thoroughly confused. i have a love-hate relationship with cliffhanger endings, and god knows how long i have to wait until i can read the next thoughts aren't coherent right now, because the inside of my brain is jumbled exactly like that. this may make more sense to me after i think about it some and let it sink in

***I was given an ARC from the author for an honest review***Solid 4 star readI really enjoyed this book. The drama starts from the beginning and I was drawn in from page one. I liked Alexandra as a heroine and I LOVED Blaise. I will say that Alexandra's indecision towards the end did get a little trying but I'm hoping she will get back to the strong, secure character she was in the next installment of this series. I really did not like Danielle and Blaise definitely needs to get control of that situation but again this is only the first book so I'm sure that's all coming. All in all the story is short but it flowed smoothly and it was an enjoyable read. There is just the right amount of angst and that's really saying something considering this love triangle is actually a rectangle! I'm looking forward to the next book!

Then Came Alexandra by EL Todd is a good light read. It didn’t take long to devour it. It is the first in a series. One girl, three guys, one chance at love? Alexandra comes to her Aunt Martha’s home to get away from her ex-fiancé, Paul. Paul has been accused of cheating on her; but he claims it is just rumor. OK, he talked to a girl and counseled with her; but nothing else. He must get Alexandra to listen to him. Blaise is the resident playboy until he runs into Alexandra. Here he finds his match. She doesn’t automatically give in to him. It doesn’t help that he has an ex-girlfriend living with him and he can’t get rid of her. Will Alexandra understand? When should he tell her? Great story!. I can hardly wait until the others come out.

"Then Came Alexandra" was a wonderful southern romance, and a fantastic book to start off E. L. Todd's new Southern Love Series. The story line and characters captivated me from the very beginning. I loved Alexandra and Blaise, and their journey together was certainly intriguing - if not a little frusterating at times. We won't know the rest of it until "Then Came Indecision" releases, which will hopefully be soon. I'm definitely looking forward to continuing this awesome and interesting series set in Savannah, Georgia! I give this 4.5 STARS!

A free copy was given by the author for an honest review....The story is about a broken heart, starting over, friendships, learning to trust again, meeting someone new, falling in love, not knowing the entire truth but saving your heart for your own good, learning new truths, jealousy, and a cliffhanger.....there were points where I did not like Blaise the "hero" of the story, but hey they're all young. Now we wait for book 2 to get answers and decisions and truth.
